Grendelbron
Vs. Beobryant
It all started
with Shield Sheafson, the greatest ball-dribbler of all time. He was the best
player in the league; no player came even close to him. Shield and his team the
Donut Danes would demolish every team by a fifty-point margin. When his time
came to retire his son Beow stepped in to fill his shoes, he never came close.
After Beow came Halfdane. Halfdane was a great dead-eye shooter but he had no
other skills in the game. After Halfdane came Hrothgar, he was a very skilled
player, and many said he would live up to the great Shield Sheafson. Hrothgar
lead his team to five consecutive basketball titles. Hrothgar was named MVP
three years in a row. He was doing so well he even built an entirely new
basketball stadium so all the people could come and watch him and his team play
for free. For years Hrothgar and his team enjoyed dominance and victory.
It was Hrothgar
sixth year in the league and this was the season opener. They were facing a new
team that was just put together the last summer, they were called the Miami
Demons and they were lead by player number sixty six, Grendelbron. The Miami
Demons and Grendelbron came to Hrothgar and his home court and beat the Donut
Danes by thirty points; Hrothgar was in shock. Hrothgar and his team would lose
to Grendelbron and the Miami Demons for twelve years straight. The crowd in the
stadium became less and less every game.
The Donut Danes were falling apart.
Then all of a
sudden Hrothgar had a brilliant idea. He decided to recruit a new player from
another league. He had heard of the
great player named Beobryant playing in the Canadian league on a team called
the Los Toronto. Hrothgar called Beobryant and Beobryant agreed to play on Hrothgar’s
team for a contract of three cows a years with six chickens in guaranteed money.
Beobryant came over to the Donut Danes from Canada and told to Hrothgar he
wanted to face Grendelbron in a one on one match, Hrothgar agreed to let
Beobryant face Grendelbron. The day before the big game, the Donut Danes all
went out for a team dinner in the stadium’s five star restaurant. They all ate
food as if it was their last dinner. They ordered absolutely everything on the
menu, they laughed and had a good time. One player named Unferthwade doubted
Beobryant’s eighty points in one game, but Beobryant insulted Unferwade back by
calling him a bench-warmer. After the
dinner everyone went to their pillow-rooms in the stadium and slept. Beobryant was
too anxious to sleep so he went to the court and planned out his strategy for
beating Grendelbron. Beobryant sat in the seats of the stadium and eventually
fell asleep.
It was game
day. The crowds of people were hoarding
into the stadium, the venders began to open their shops, and the players were
getting ready. Grendelbron arrived in
the stadium and began shooting around. Everyone’s eyes were on Grendelbron,
they were watching him like a scavenger watching a dying prey. Then out of a
plume of smoke came Beobryant entering the arena. He came in running around the
court, waving his arms up and down, and getting the crowd pumped up. Then he
took the microphone and said,” Grendelbron I challenge you to a one on one.”
Grendelbron with no hesitation said,” I will gladly accept.” Both of them approached
the middle of the court and waited for the jump ball. The ref explained it was
a game to eleven and win by two, and then the ref threw the ball in the air.
With all his might Beobryant jumped up and snatched the ball out of the air. He
dribbled up the court, crossed Grendelbron over and dunked the ball. The crowd
went crazy, people were holding signs saying,” Marry me Beobryant”; this was
the game everyone was waiting for. Grendelbron and Beobryant were trading baskets
back and forth. Then when the game was tied nine to nine Beobryant had the
ball, went down the court and made a three and ended the game. Grendelbron was defeated for the first time
in twelve years, and the basketball title was returned to the Donut Danes and
Hrothgar.
